Monster House

This is one of my first 3D works at a professional level while working at Origami Studio.

Origami Studio was the first job I had after finishing my studies in 3D fundamentals. At that time (2012) the teachers were the same owners of the studio and they invited me to work with them.

The monster house was the first job they commissioned me to do. I had just graduated from the course and the level of complexity that the model required was much more than what I had been taught during the classes, but I started a few at a time, piece by piece, without getting overwhelmed by the whole design.

The model consisted of two versions, a “normal” house and its transformation to a monster house. The work was done with 3DMax, which was the software I had learned during the course.

I remember using a Wacom to paint the textures, one by one, of each element of the house, as well as the contour lines. There might have been easier ways to do the textures in that style, but the result was satisfactory.

The concept art was designed by another member of the studio, Samuel Chuquizuta (a genius at drawing).

Below are his sketches.
